Call Forwarding

Call forwarding is the service used to divert the incoming calls to another phone or another phone number to any location from the main phone line. This can be really helpful, like you can forward calls to a person who is traveling if he is not there to receive calls. I some cases these calls are directed to the call centers where people get their queries answered.

How it Works

In some programs it is called “Follow Me”. There are some companies that offer international call forwarding services also. This service may be free for the customer but the company has to pay the charges.

Some special types of call forwarding can be activated if the main line is busy. The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) uses a vertical plan to control the forwarded calls. This plan includes 24 countries and territories; US, Canada, 16 Caribbean nations and Bermuda. Standards are different in every country, like in European countries the service code follows the pattern CEPT and ETSI standards that were developed in 1970s on both ISDN and POTS lines. The process of activation and deactivation is same across all European Union. In every case the company will tell you how to program your phone to carry out call forwarding services.GSM/3GSM phones have different standards.
